When you request a True BusinessID certificate, GeoTrust will verify the identity of the business entity responsible for the Internet domain name for which the certificate is requested. Before proceeding through the enrollment process, you should know what information you will need to provide in order for the GeoTrust team to complete the verification process.

Ordering Your True BusinessID SSL web server certificate is a Five Step process:

Step 1: Collect Proof of Organization Information

When you request a True BusinessID certificate, GeoTrust will verify the identity of the business entity responsible for the Internet domain name for which the certificate is requested, so it is important to collect the information needed for Geotrust to verify the identity of your business.

Step 2: Generate CSR

Create a Certificate Signing Request on your web server. Instructions are available for creating CSR keys on many commercial and freeware servers.

Step 3: Order Your Certificate

Once you have collected your Proof of Organization information and generated a Certificate Signing Request, you are ready to place your order online.

You will then be requested to fax your Proof of Organization information and WHOIS record to 1-770-360-9571. Include your domain name and order ID number on the cover letter. If any of the above items do not match or are not submitted, the processing of your certificate request will be delayed.

Step 4: Install SSL Certificate

You will receive your Geotrust True BusinessID SSL certificate within 2 to 3 business days. Now you can install the SSL certificate on your web server and begin using the security of a true 128-bit True BusinessID SSL certificate!

Step 5: Install True Site

Install the True Site seal on your web site by placing simple HTML codes into your web pages.
